"An Elephant Is Eaten One Bite at a Time"
No problem is too big to solve if you break it down into small enough pieces. At Tricycle Software, our core philosophy is to make the complex simple and accessible – one step at a time.
Jere Mäntsälä has always been curious about how things work, even as a kid. After graduating as a mechanical engineer in 2003, he spent years in the industrial and machine construction sectors, focusing primarily on mechanical design and assembly work. However, the pull of the software world was too strong to ignore, and by 2007, he had mainly transitioned to it. The puzzle pieces clicked into place in 2021 when his long-time dream of founding his own company became a reality, and Tricycle Software Oy was born.
What sets Mäntsälä and Tricycle Software apart is their strong mechanical expertise: a deep understanding of how software and hardware can work seamlessly together – and, most importantly, how to make it as user-friendly as possible!
As Easy as Riding a Tricycle
Sustainability is a guiding principle for Jere Mäntsälä, both in his work and personal life. He envisions eco-friendly projects playing an even greater role in the future. This commitment to ecology blends naturally with his appreciation for traditional craftmanship – living in an old wooden house ensures there’s always something to tinker with while honoring the handiwork of past generations. And true to form, there’s usually some new project on hand...
Even the company’s red tricycle logo has a real-life backstory. Jere once stumbled across a well-worn tricycle at a local recycling center and restored it as a gift for his daughter’s second birthday. The child's own ride has become a tangible symbol of the company’s philosophy: software should be so intuitive and easy to use that anyone can get the hang of it.
